Did you know?

Nearly 9 out of 10 claims for Pension Credit are successful and that in Greater Manchester there are already over 70,000 residents receiving their Pension Credit entitlement?

Even if you own your home, have substantial savings or have a private pension, you may still be eligible for Pension Credit. It’s always worth making a new claim even if you’ve already checked in the past.

Checking your eligibility isn’t as difficult as it once was, so set aside fifteen minutes now and give us a call.

We can answer any questions you have about claiming and we can help you through the entireclaims process, from start to finish.

1. Call

  • Ring your local Citizen’s Advice service to speak with one of our friendly advisors about Pension Credit.

  • Choose your local service from the list below, or enter your postcode to find your nearest Citizens Advice.

  • If you’d like the support of a friend or relative, they can call on your behalf as long as you are also on the phone, or are with them whilst they call.

2. Check

  • We can check your eligibility over the phone. In most cases this shouldn’t take more than ten minutes.

  • Our advisors can talk you through what details you will need to check if you’re entitled. If you’d like to have these details to hand before you call them, you can find out what you will need.

3. Claim

  • We can help you get in touch with the Pension Credit claim line where you can complete an application over the phone.

  • If you’d like us to join you on the call, we can arrange that too.

  • If you are told you can’t get Pension Credit or you don’t think you’ve received enough Pension Credit, we can support you to challenge this decision. We have had many success stories doing this.

  • Call us if you want to discuss this or click here to find out more about how to challenge a decision.

4. Then Check Again

  • Claiming Pension Credit often unlocks a range of extra help. This could include help towards buying new glasses, help with your council tax bill or a free TV licence if you are over 75.

  • Call us back to look at what extra help you might be entitled to, or have a look at the full range of additional support that could be available.
